Scott Shenker elected to Nat’l Academy of Engineering

The AMPLab is very pleased to announce that Prof. Scott Shenker has been elected to the National Academy of Engineering “for contributions to Internet design and architecture”.

From the announcement:  “Today the NAE announced their list of 66 new members and 10 foreign associates this morning, bringing the NAE’s total membership to 2,254 U.S. members and 206 foreign associates — a very select group of those who have made outstanding contributions to “engineering research, practice, or education, including, where appropriate, significant contributions to the engineering literature,” and to the “pioneering of new and developing fields of technology, making major advancements in traditional fields of engineering, or developing/implementing innovative approaches to engineering education.”  The complete list of new members is at http://www8.nationalacademies.org/onpinews/newsitem.aspx?RecordID=02092012.”
