So it’s official – it’s not your imagination – the database landscape really is going crazy.    The 451 Group recently published their Database Landscape Map update for December 2012.   The Berkeley Data Analytics System (BDAS) – primarily Spark and Shark in this context – has some pretty nice real estate in the upper right quadrant of this picture.   The variety and scope of activity around data these days is truly breathtaking.   This map may or may not help you understand it better, but it certainly will give you a feel for the sheer magnitude of inovation going on in this space.  — MJF
