A July 22 Infoworld article entitled “Why Spark is Spiking in the Cloud” gives a good survey of recent announcements by a number of AMPLab sponsors regarding cloud-based offerings of Apache Spark (originally AMPLab’s Spark project).   Highlighted are offerings from AWS, IBM, Huawei and Microsoft.   We’re excited to see this further evidence of Spark’s broader appeal in industry and are particularly gratified that all four of the companies mentioned are AMPLab sponsors who have gotten to know the technology and its developers through research retreats and other interactions over the years.
