Kay Ousterhout’s recent work on analyzing the performance of Spark clusters has created some waves.   Her results indicate that some of the traditional performance concerns for Big Data analytics systems may not actually be where the bottlenecks are for many important applications.   Kay was interviewed by the O’Reilly Radar’s Ben Lorica, resulting in a Podcast and a recent Radar Blog Post.
