The Spark Summit and announcements of the huge industry embrace of Apache Spark have generated a lot of press this week, including articles in the Wall St. Journal and two articles in the New York Times. We’ll post a summary of that coverage in a bit, but one article that came out during this flurry focuses particularly on the role of community in the Big Data ecosystem. In the article, Typesafe’s Dean Wampler (interviewed by Matt Asay) calls out the Mesos and Spark systems built here at AMPLab as examples.
