Scientific American just released a short podcast describing Carat, a collaborative energy monitoring app for Smartphones built originally in the AMPLab (using the BDAS stack of course) and now deployed in conjunction with researchers at the University of Helsinki. The U of H team has also published an interesting set of statistics on app battery use gleaned from the hundreds of thousands of phones running the software.
