A recent survey of the top trends in 2016 for Big Data users showed Apache Spark continuing its momentum. According to a recent ZDNet article, in a survey performed by data tool vendor Syncsort, 250 prominent respondents including data architects, IT managers, developers, business intelligence/data analysts, and data scientists were surveyed about the top Big Data technology trends to watch in 2016. 70% of those responding listed Apache Spark as the “platform that they’re most interested in”. ZDNet expressed surprise at this finding, while from where we sit in AMPLab, this level of interest seems pretty consistent with what we’ve been seeing. The article is at:
