AMPLab Progress Announced at White House Big Data Event

The White House Office of Science and Technology Policy is holding an event called “Data to Knowledge to Action” to highlight progress nationally since the announcement of the administration’s Big Data research initiative in March of last year.   The event, which is being held on November 12 at the Ronald Reagan Building in Washington DC, features talks, panels and breakout sessions and includes a series of announcements of new partnerships.  The announcements include new releases and use cases of the AMPLab’s Berkeley Data Analytics Stack.   AMPLab Director Michael Franklin will be on a panel on “Big Data Research and Development” at the event to discuss these advances as well as the lab’s model of research and engagement with industry and the open source community.
