The popular Machine Learning blog “FastML” has a recent posting from an “Ask Me Anything” session on Reddit by Mike Jordan.   In the post, Mike gives his opinions on the meaning and significance of Deep Learning, and makes a case for more and closer engagement between Statistics/ML researchers and Computer Systems/Database researchers, something Mike’s been living at AMPLab for the past 3.5 years and the RADLab for the 5 years before that.
