Ion Stoica Named ACM Fellow

Ion Stoica has been named an ACM Fellow.  Fellow is ACM’s most prestigious member grade, bestowed only upon ACM members who have distinguished themselves by outstanding technical and professional achievements. Prof. Stoica was cited for his contributions to “networking, distributed systems, and cloud computing” – (ed. note: and this doesn’t even include his recent forays into database systems (!) ).

Fellow Berkeley profs  Alistair Sinclair and Katherine Yelick were also named Fellows in the recent announcement by ACM.  Congratulations to Ion, Alistair and Kathy on this well-deserved honor.
