Datanami recently published a short article about the alpha release of the KeystoneML machine learning framework last week.   The alpha release has generated a good deal of interest from people looking to run sophisticated learning algorithms for problems such as Speech Recognition, Computer Vision, and Natural Language Processing on the Berkeley Data Analytics Stack and Apache Spark.
