Prof. Ken Goldberg and Lt. Gov. Gavin Newsom Initiate Ambitious Crowdsourcing Project to Improve California Government

AMPLab Professor Ken Goldberg (who also directs the Center for Data and Democracy at CITRIS) and California Lieutenant Governor Gavin Newsom have announced the “California Report Card” project.   California Report Card is a crowdsourcing project with roots going back to Ken’s earlier work on the OpinionSpace system for facilitating conversation and debate among a disparate and diverse population.   The goal of CRC is to increase public dialogue and engagement among Californians across the political and social spectrum in order to identify and address the key issues facing the state.
